the Octel 200/300 may be configured to transfer unanswered calls automatically to personal assistance
extensions. As a further option, the Octel 200/300 may be configured to give the caller the choice of
overriding the automatic transfer and leaving a message. Refer to the Feature Description volume —
Customizing Mailbox Features, Personal Assistance.
If the called extension does not contain the extension number in the name field, the call is handled as a
direct external call from the specified trunk.
Direct Internal Calls
A person can call the Octel 200/300 directly either to enter a mailbox, send a Quick Message, or make a
network call. For these direct internal calls, the Mitel SX-2000 sends a display containing the following
information:
XXX
XXX is the extension number of the calling party.
The Octel 200/300 uses this display information to identify the source of the call.
The Octel 200/300 answers direct internal calls with a prompt determined by Octel 200/300 COS
attributes assigned to the calling extension's mailbox. The caller then has access to the Octel 200/300's
call processing features. With Called Party Identification, several convenience features are available for
extensions associated with single mailboxes. To take advantage of these features, a caller must be calling
the Octel 200/300 directly from their own extension. The Octel 200/300 already knows the mailbox
associated with each extension, so the caller may

Forwarded Internal Calls. When a caller at one extension calls another extension and the call is
