13.2 NORTHERN TELECOM PBX REQUIREMENTS
The Northern Telecom M1/SL-1 PBX configuration differs for an integrated application from that for a
nonintegrated installation.
All ports, except those used for message-waiting, are configured to be in a single terminal hunt group
-
or to be members of an ACD.
Calls on incoming trunks directly to the Octel 200/300 reach this hunt group by (1) using the M1
-
autoterminate feature, (2) calling the DID extension of port 1, or (3) calling a DID number
configured as the pilot of an ACD.
The hunt destination and the RNA destination for user stations are configured in the Northern
-
Telecom PBX database on a set-by-set basis.
The call-forward all function is established at the station by the station user. This user configurable
-
setting is lost if the switch initializes.
Hardware Requirements
Each port to be supported in the Octel 200/300 requires a port on the Northern Telecom switch that is
capable of supporting a 2616 telephone set with a display module.
.
It is recommended that the 16 digital telephone ports be distributed across multiple Northern Telecom
cards and across multiple loops in the M1 for improved performance and enhanced reliability.

The following M1 software is required for the installation:
