Testing of Adaptive Integration
This section describes the procedures for testing Adaptive Integration features. Once the RS-232C link is
installed and operational and the MD110 line cords for the message server are connected to the correct
message server ports, proceed as follows:
1.
CONFIGURING THE MESSAGE SERVER FOR TEST
Before proceeding, make the following changes to the message server configuration.

a.
Add a message server mailbox that has a mailbox number matching the extension number for
phone B. This mailbox is referred to as mailbox B.
b. Assign these attributes to the COS for mailbox B:

Add a second message server mailbox that has a mailbox number matching the extension number
for phone A. This is referred to as mailbox A. Assign no attributes to the COS for mailbox A.
d. Be sure that RNA count specified by
the duration of RNA diversion for phone B.
2.
TESTING MESSAGE SERVER PORTS
This test verifies that all MD110 port extensions are connected to the correct message server
ports. This test also checks that the message server correctly answers direct internal calls.
a.
From phone A, call the extension of the message server port 1. Does the message server answer
with "To enter your mailbox press pound..."?
NO ® Correct the problem before continuing.
b. Dial
c.
Repeat Steps A and B for each of the message server ports.
d. When all of the message server ports have been successfully tested, hang up phone A.
3.
TESTING MD110 DISCONNECT NOTIFICATION
This test verifies that all message server ports receive disconnect notification from the MD110
when the calling party hangs up. The MD110 provides this disconnect notification via the
integration data link.
a.
From phone A, call the extension of the message server port 1.
Does the message server answer with "To enter your mailbox press pound..." ?
NO ® Correct the problem before continuing.
b. Hang up phone A without dialing
Does the message server port 1 hang up immediately?
NO ® Correct the problem before continuing.
c.
Repeat Steps A and B for each of the message server ports.
