Octel 200/300 Configuration Checklist
Below is a checklist for configuring the Octel 200/300 message server. The message server command is
listed.
Configuration Step
1. Assign COS Attribute 9 only to mailboxes that will use MWI
to activate message waiting.
2. Assign COS Attribute 15 to mailboxes of extensions that will
forward to the Octel 200/300 for call coverage or to mailboxes
designated to transfer and release the call (sometimes referred
to as a blind transfer). Do not assign Attribute 15 to mailboxes
for which a supervised transfer is required.
3. For mailboxes assigned COS Attribute 15, set these index
values to be one ring less than the number of rings for RNA
diversion in the System 75.
4. If desired, assign INFORMATION Table Index 25 to allow
mailbox owners to quickly change their greetings without first
entering their mailboxes.
5. Assign COS Attribute 58 to non-integrated ports.
6. Modify System Parameter 3 to 3-ATT.
7. Modify System Parameter 33 to NONE.
8. Modify System Parameter 77 to YES.
9. Modify System Parameter 79 with the digits to be dialed
before the extension to light the message-waiting lamp.
10. Modify System Parameter 81 with the digits to be dialed
before the extension to turn off the message-waiting lamp.
11. Modify System Parameter 116 to be YES.
12. Modify System Parameter 117 to 5.
13. Modify System Parameter 170 to be YES.
14. Modify System Parameter 254 for the digital transfer initiate
code.
15.
Modify the
AX mode and so that all ports are configured for outcall except
the port used for MWI. Set testing to NO for all ports.
