Calls redirected to coverage are first sent to the Octel 200/300. Should the Octel 200/300 fail to answer
the call within the Don't Answer Interval for Subsequent Redirection (e.g., if all Octel 200/300 ports are
busy), the call is redirected to the attendant (extension 0).
Configuration
Configure all coverage paths (station extensions, and APIC port hunt groups) the DEFINITY G3 CORs as
follows and check each step when complete.
1. List all coverage paths and note which ones must be changed.
2. Use the CHANGE command to modify one of the noted coverage paths.
Figure 12.1-11 shows an example of the data entry screen for a coverage path.
3. Enter the Octel 200/300 Hunt Group (HX) as APIC port's COVERAGE POINT
NUMBER 1 in the coverage path.
4. Check the COVERAGE CRITERIA. Verify that the number of rings for Don't
Answer is one more than the number of rings specified for RNA in the Octel
200/300.
5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each coverage path that must be changed.
6. Create a coverage path that has the attendant as its first coverage point and the
extension of the last Octel 200/300 port as the second coverage point. This
coverage path (referred to as CPX) is the one that should be specified for the
access extension. Specify the coverage path assigned to the port as nine rings
before forward.
7. Define and add any new coverage paths that are needed for special applications
involving the Octel 200/300.
Considerations
Definity G3
You may have to modify the configuration of the DEFINITY G3 to correctly forward calls to the Octel
200/300. The DEFINITY G3 feature parameter for simulated bridged appearance, Keep SBA at Coverage
Point, defaults to YES and allows the transfer of a call from one digital set to another digital set without
going to coverage. This may cause calls to the Octel 200/300 to be bridged. Set this feature parameter to
NO if this should occur.
