7. EXTERNAL TRUNK CALL TO THE OCTEL 200/300
This test verifies that the Octel 200/300 correctly processes calls from trunks that have been
auto-terminated to the Octel 200/300 hunt group. Be sure to test all such trunk groups.

From phone A, call outside of the PBX and back in on a trunk that auto-terminates to the Octel
200/300. Does the Octel 200/300 answer with the greeting configured for the trunk?
NO
b. From the terminal connected to the Octel 200/300, enter the P S command. Does the port that
answered show WFD state?
NO
c.
Enter
200/300 port that answered the call. Use the command
TE C 1 x
where x is the port number.
d. Repeat steps a. through c. for each Octel 200/300 port until all the ports are busied out. This is to
confirm that each Octel 200/300 port can answer a trunk call.
e.
To release all Octel 200/300 ports from the FWD condition, from the Octel 200/300 terminal,
use the command
TE C 2
8. EXTERNAL CALL TO A RING-NO-ANSWER EXTENSION
This test verifies that the Octel 200/300 correctly processes an external call that reaches a
ring-no-answer (RNA) extension.
a.
Set phone B to forward to the Octel 200/300 on a ring-no-answer condition by entering the
feature access code for Call Forwarding − Don't Answer followed by the Octel 200/300 access
number. After setting forwarding for phone B, make sure phone B is on-hook.
b. From phone A, call outside of the PBX and back in on a trunk that auto-terminates to the Octel
200/300. Does the Octel 200/300 answer with the greeting configured for the trunk?
NO
c.
Enter the extension of phone B. Does the Octel 200/300 respond with, "Thank you, just a
moment. . .", and does phone B start ringing?
NO
d. Do not answer phone B. After the number of rings configured for ring-no-answer forward in
phone B's PBX COS, does the Octel 200/300 respond with, "Extension EXT-B is unavailable.
Please leave a message at the tone. . . "?
