Customer Telephones
With integration, mailbox and extension numbers should match for the system to operate properly.
However, if digit translation is used, matching mailbox and extension numbers are not required.
Telephones with assigned mailboxes that want secondary answering of calls should be forwarded to the
pilot number of the hunt group. This allows complete integration of both internal and external calls.
However, if internal callers want the ability to use the Ring Again feature (camp-on) on a busy extension,
the M1 should be programmed not to forward internal calls on a busy condition. Internal callers may then
use the camp-on feature, but will not have call coverage by the Octel 200/300 when busy. In addition,
primary answer calls that reach a busy extension do not get call status ("is on the phone"). The prompt
says "is unavailable."
For telephones to have a visible message waiting indicator, configure them to have message waiting
under the COS (Class of Service). If message waiting is activated and the lamp is not activated, then the
PBX uses stutter dial tone for message waiting indication. The M1 codes are as follows:

Lamps on 2500 sets
2500 set without lamp
