System Parameter 180 — RS-232 BYTE FORMAT FOR PBX
INTEGRATION
This parameter can be set to 0 or 1:
0 = 7 bits/even parity
1 = 8 bits/no parity
Contact the providing telephone company to determine what data type
is used.
7 bits/even parity is most commonly used for AT&T 1AESS and 5ESS.
8 bits/no parity is most commonly used for Northern Telecom SL-100
and DMS 100.
If this parameter is modified, the message server must be restarted
before the RS-232 byte format is changed.
System Parameter 271 — RS232 INTEGRATION BAUD RATE
The default baud rate for this parameter is 1200.
This parameter can be modified to increase the baud rate to 2400, 4800,
or 9600.
If this parameter is modified, the message server must be restarted
before the baud rate is changed.
Configure all ports that answer calls forwarded to the Octel 200/300 for
AX mode. Configure the SLOTS Table as follows:
In the extension number field for each port answering the Centrex lines,
the extension number must be the exact Message Desk Number plus the
Message Desk Terminal Number assigned by the PE. It is a total of
seven digits as described below.
Message Desk number = three digits with a range of 001-063
-
Message Desk Terminal = four digits with a range of 0001-2047
-
The Message Desk Terminal ID is supplied by the PE. The Octel
200/300 treats this number as an Octel 200/300 port's extension
number.
.
If an entry in the PREFIX DIGIT Table translates the value of the
Message Desk Terminal ID, that translated value is entered in the
SLOTS Table.
.
If the lines support message server ports configured for ground
start, they cannot be configured for outcall.
Refer to the Configuration volume, Slots Table chapter, for further
information on configuring the SLOTS Table.
