Message waiting indication can be configured in one of two ways:
All integration links perform message waiting for all mailboxes without regard to COS.
-
One or more COSs with specific groups of mailboxes are assigned to each link performing message
-
waiting.
System Parameter 170 — INTEGRATION ON/OFF LINK MUST MATCH, is set to YES when a
COS is assigned to specific links for message waiting.
One link can be specified as the default. This link is used for MWI for any COS not specifically
assigned to another link. Refer to the Configuration volume, Slots Table chapter, for more
information.
To assist in configuring integration links for message waiting, the round trip log can be checked for the
number of mailboxes per link and the longest message waiting round trip time since the report was last
cleared. The term "round trip" refers to the way in which each link scans the USER Table to see if
message waiting lamps need to be turned ON or turned OFF.
The maintenance command L RT 1 is used to collect the round trip information for each integration
link. One round trip indicates a scan of the USER Table starting from the first mailbox to the last
mailboxes for lamp message waiting activity.
