5. ATTIC LINK HUNT GROUP TEST
This test is to verify that the PBX Hunt Group for the ATTIC link is working properly and that
all links are in the Hunt Group.

b. Connect the modular adapter to the 25-pair cable associated with the first ATTIC slot.

d. From phone A call the pilot number for the ATTIC link hunt group (EXTNH). Does one of

g. Answer the call and check the line quality. Hang up the phones.
h. Repeat steps c. through g. to test the other integration units.
6. PBX BUSY FORWARD TEST
This test verifies that a call to a busy extension forwards to the Octel 200/300 access number.

b. Connect one digital phone to the jack position of the adapter that corresponds to Integration

d. From phone A, call the extension number of phone B.

For this test, all of the links must be disconnected from the Octel 200/300.
Disconnect all of the links from the Octel 200/300.
Connect one 7407D test telephone to the digital port for Integration Unit 1, Link 1 of the
ATTIC and another 7404D phone for Integration Unit 1 Link 2.

Wait for one to two minutes to ensure that the PBX knows that the other links have
been disconnected and that calls directed to the hunt group are not sent to the
disconnected links.

NO Verify that the number called is in the correct hunt group. Check the PBX

configuration. Refer to Figure 7.2-8.
Note which phone the call rang in on and then answer the call, check the line quality. Hang up
both phones.

ring? Is it the only phone that rings?
NO Verify that the number called is in the hunt group. Confirm that the button

assignment shows call appearances, not bridged appearances on all links that are
ringing. Refer to Figure 7.2-4.
Connect the 356A adapter to the 25-pair cable associated with the configured slot.
Unit 1, Link 1 and connect the second digital phone to the jack position that corresponds to
Integration Unit 1, Link 2.
Make phone C appear busy by taking it off-hook.
Does Octel 200/300 ring immediately?
NO Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.

Answer the call on the link. Hang up the call and phone A.
