6. INTERNAL CALL — FAIL-SAFE OPERATION FOR ALL PORTS BUSY
This test verifies that calls to the Octel 200/300 redirect to the designated fail-safe position when
the ports are in use.
a.
Make sure System Parameters 45 and 46 are set to NONE.
b. Put the Octel 200/300 ports in the FWD state by entering, at the @ prompt
CD x y z
where x is the slot number, y is the first port, and z is the last port to forward.
c.
Using phone TEST1, call the Octel 200/300. Does the operator answer?
NO
d. Cancel the FWD state by entering
CU x y z
where x is the slot number, y is the first port, and z is last port to cancel forwarding.
Note that this test results in many occurrences of Integration peg 11, DIAL ERROR, since all
system ports are out of service. After performing this test, clear the integration pegs using the
Clear Integration command. See the DEFINITY G3i Maintenance section in this chapter.
7. EXTERNAL TRUNK CALL TO THE OCTEL 200/300
This test verifies that the Octel 200/300 correctly processes calls from trunks that have been
auto-terminated to the extension of hunt group EXTNH. Be sure to test all such trunk groups.

From phone A, call outside of the PBX and back in on a trunk that terminates at the Octel
200/300. Does the Octel 200/300 answer with the proper greeting?
NO
b. From the terminal connected to the Octel 200/300 enter the PS command. Does the port that
answered show WFD state?
NO
c.
Press
200/300 port that answered the call. Use the command TE C 1 x, in which x is the port
number.
d. Repeat steps a. through c. for each Octel 200/300 port until all of the ports are busied out. This is
to confirm that calls can be placed to the Octel 200/300 on each port.
