The ATTIC then verifies link operation. Verification takes about two minutes. Once a link is verified
as working, the yellow LED associated with each link is turned ON. If all yellow LEDs do not turn
ON, there is a link problem. Troubleshoot the link using the display phone. If the link is good,
replace the ATTIC board.
6. Use the Courtesy Up command to initialize the integration card. At the @ prompt enter
CU x y
x = slot number; y = unit number
If there are two units, both units would have to be initialized.
Repeat this step for unit 2.
7. Test the system for proper operation.
Once the down LED is OFF, the good LED is ON, and the yellow LEDs are ON, the card is working
properly.

Testing of Adaptive Integration Features

This section describes the procedures for testing Adaptive Integration features, once the ATTIC board is
installed and operational.
1. CONFIGURING THE OCTEL 200/300 FOR TEST
Before proceeding, make the following changes to the Octel 200/300 configuration.
These changes are temporary; they are required only for testing.
a. Add an Octel 200/300 mailbox that has a mailbox number matching the extension number for
phone C. This is referred to as mailbox C.
b. Assign these attributes to the mailbox COS —
Attribute 15 — TRANSFER TO RINGING
Attribute 9 — MESSAGE WAITING LAMP
c. Add a second Octel 200/300 mailbox that has a mailbox number matching the extension number
for phone A. This is referred to as mailbox A. No attributes should be assigned to its COS.
d. Be sure the mailbox RNA count specified by INFORMATION Table Index 7 is less than the
number of rings specified by System 85 coverage groups for forwarding on RNA.
2. TESTING PORTS
This test verifies that all System 85 port extensions are connected to the correct Octel 200/300
ports.

a. On the terminal, at the @ prompt, enter the command
PB60019-01

Modify System Parameter 117 to be 0. When testing is complete, modify System Parameter
117 back to 5 rings.
