MIC Extensions
Each MIC port requires a Superset 4 extension from the Mitel PBX. The MIC message waiting ports (the
ports that MWI uses for control of message waiting indicators) are configured differently from the
remaining MIC ports.
1. Allocate a Superset extension for each of the MIC ports.
2. (MWI only) Allocate an unused PBX COS for the MIC message waiting ports. Assign this COS only
to the MIC message waiting ports, and not to any other extensions. Using the console in program
mode, assign the COS options listed below.
Option Number and Name
36 — Call Forwarding − Follow Me
38 — Never a Forwardee
41 — Data Security
42 — Station Override Security
44 — Originate Only
78 — Do Not Disturb
106 — SUPERSET Sub-Attendant
All other COS options must be disabled.
3. (CPI only) Allocate an unused PBX COS for the MIC call processing ports. Assign this COS only to
the MIC call processing ports, and not to any other extensions. Using the console in program mode,
assign the COS options listed below. Also assign any options the Octel 200/300 requires for use of
external trunks, such a Trunk Group Access options or ARS options.
Assign this class of service option to the call processing port only if not using the COV Voice Mail
port message waiting indication:
Option Number and Name
34 — Call Forwarding − Busy
35 — Call Forwarding − Don't Answer
36 — Call Forwarding − Follow Me
41 — Data Security
42 — Station Override Security
78 — Room Do Not Disturb Enable
All other COS options must be disabled.
4. Put the console in extended programming mode to configure the MIC Superset extensions and
proceed as follows:
(MWI only) Allocate a Superset extension to be used for controlling message waiting indicators.
-
Assign this extension the COS defined for MWI in step 2 above. This extension cannot be used
to answer calls.
Allocate the Superset extensions to be used for call processing. Assign these extensions the COS
-
defined for CPI in step 3 above.
When the Superset extensions have been programmed, exit from extended programming mode
to assign the CPI extensions to a hunt group.
