Call Rerouting
All extensions that are to use the Octel 200/300 for call coverage must be assigned a Call Rerouting table
entry that includes the Octel 200/300 as an answer point. This may require addition of new Call
Rerouting table entries as well as modification of existing Call Rerouting table entries.
Caution!
Proceed with the Call Rerouting configuration using the following procedure.
1. List all Call Rerouting First Alternative Assignments and Call Rerouting Second Alternative
Assignments and note which ones need to be changed so that the Octel 200/300 provides secondary
answering.
2. Enter the pilot number of the Octel 200/300 hunt group as a First Alternative Answer point or
Second Alternative Answer point for all Rerouting Alternatives that need to be changed.
3. Add and define any new Rerouting Table entries that are needed for special applications involving
the Octel 200/300.
4. Access the Call Rerouting Assignment form and verify that all the Octel 200/300 mailbox owners
needing call coverage are assigned appropriate Call Rerouting Alternatives.
5. Set up Call Rerouting Alternatives for the Octel 200/300 ports themselves. These Alternatives should
specify alternative answer points to be used when the Octel 200/300 cannot answer calls, for
example, when all the Octel 200/300 ports are busy, or during a Octel 200/300 reload.
6. Access the Call Rerouting Assignment form and assign these alternatives to the extensions used for
the Octel 200/300 hunt group.
Call Rerouting for dedicated MWI ports. If any Octel 200/300 ports are dedicated for MWI, they
cannot answer calls. To prevent these ports from answering calls, use Call Rerouting as follows:
1. Set up a Call Rerouting Always Alternative that reroutes calls to the Octel 200/300 hunt group pilot
number for all calling devices.
2. Access the Call Rerouting Assignment form and assign this alternative to the Octel 200/300 ports
used for MWI. This ensures that any calls to the MWI ports are rerouted to the call processing ports,
preventing the MWI ports from ever answering calls.

S.4.1
The Call Rerouting Timer (an SX-2000 system
option) should be set longer than the longest value
used for the Call Forward No Answer Timer (an
SX-2000 COS option), but shorter than the sum of
any two values for the Call Forward No Answer
timer. Refer to the Operation of Mitel SX-2000
Adaptive Integration section, Call Rerouting.
