Because the Octel 200/300 knows the status of the extension, the prompt says "(name) doesn't answer/is
busy/is unavailable. Please leave a message at the tone, enter another extension number, or press zero for
(personal) assistance." If the greeting is ON, it plays instead of the prompt.
If the caller presses
INFORMATION Table for the mailbox, port, or trunk. If a personal assistant is configured in that
mailbox, the Octel 200/300 performs a screened transfer to the Personal Assistancet position. If that
position does not answer or is busy, the Octel 200/300 prompts "Personal assistance is unavailable.
Please leave a message at the tone for (name) or press zero for the operator."
It might be desired to direct some types of calls (that is, certain trunk calls or calls to selected extensions)
immediately to Personal Assistance instead of offering messaging or calling options. For this application,
the Octel 200/300 can be configured to transfer unanswered calls automatically to Personal Assistance
extensions. As a further option, the Octel 200/300 can be configured to give the caller the choice of
overriding the automatic transfer and leaving a message.

configured to support calling across the network, to make a network call. The Octel 200/300 recognizes
these calls as internal, because the display shows the calling extension. For direct internal calls, the M1
