10A. MESSAGE WAITING FOR SYSTEMS USING MESSAGE WAITING INDICATION
This test verifies correct operation of message waiting indication.
a.
Set phone B to forward to the Octel 200/300 on a busy condition by entering the feature access
code for Call Forwarding - Busy followed by the Octel 200/300 access number. After setting
forwarding for phone B, leave phone B off-hook so that it appears busy.
b. From phone A, call out and back in on a trunk auto-terminated to the Octel 200/300.

Does the Octel 200/300 answer properly?
NO

d. Enter the extension number of phone B. After the duration specified by the PBX System Option
for Call Forwarding Don't Answer Time-out, the Octel 200/300 should respond with "Extension
EXT-B is busy/unavailable. Please leave a message at the tone, enter another extension number,
or press zero for assistance. . ."

Leave a test message for phone B.

Does the Octel 200/300 light the message waiting indicator on phone B?
NO

g. From phone B, call the Octel 200/300 and enter mailbox B. The Octel 200/300 should respond
with "You have one message. Ready. . ."
h. Listen to the test message. Does the message sound clear?
