INTERNAL CALL TO A RING-NO-ANSWER EXTENSION
This test verifies that the message server correctly processes a call forwarded from a
ring-no-answer extension.
a.
From phone A, call phone B. Does phone B start to ring?
NO ® Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.
b. Do not answer phone B. After the duration for RNA diversion, does phone B stop ringing?
NO ® Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.
c.
After phone B stops ringing, does the message server respond with the prompt, "Extension EXT-B
is unavailable. Please leave a message at the tone" ?
NO ® Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.
d. Dial

INTERNAL CALL TO A BUSY EXTENSION
This test verifies that the message server correctly processes a call forwarded from a busy
extension.
a.
From phone A, call phone B. Does the message server answer with the prompt, "Extension EXT-B
is unavailable. Please leave a message at the tone"?
NO ® Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.
b. While still connected to the message server, enter the mailbox number of mailbox B (this
should be the same as the extension number of phone B).
Does the message server respond with the prompt, "Thank you. Just a moment"?
NO ® Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.
c.
After a short interval, does the message server respond with, "Extension EXT-B is unavailable.
Please leave a message at the tone"?
NO ® Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.
d. Dial

EXTERNAL TRUNK CALL TO THE MESSAGE SERVER
This test verifies that the message server correctly processes calls from trunks which have been
auto-terminated to the message server hunt group. Be sure to test all such trunk groups.

the message server.
