A group of ports NOT defined as members of the ACD must be configured to support message waiting.
When the message server is taken out of service, the ports are put in the "make set busy" condition.
When ports are initialized, the server logs in each port.
The server can be configured to use the Interflow or Overflow capabilities of the PBX to route calls to an
alternate answer position when all ports are busy. In addition, the Night Call Forward field can be used to
redirect calls when all ports are in the "make set busy" condition (logged out).
Caution!
For both configurations, the following COS features must be enabled:
HTA to allow the hunting sequence on busy
-
FNA to forward calls on a no-answer condition
-
ADD for automatic digit display
-
HPR for high priority allowed
-
DNDA for dialed name displayed allowed
-
CNDA for call party name display allowed
-
WTD for warning tone denied
-
MWD for message-waiting denied
-
AHD for automatic hold denied
-
.
FBD is for call forward busy denied. Although hunting (HTA) takes precedence over FBA/FBD,
this parameter should be set to DENIED .
.
HTA and FNA do not apply for sets configured
For some M1 installations, these capabilities must be specifically configured for each Octel 200/300 port
extension by the COS.

The Octel 200/300 and M1 integration requires that
the Octel 200/300 ports be connected to their
assigned PBX extension numbers. This should be
checked during installation. Refer to Testing
Northern Telecom M1/SL-1, Step 1, Preliminary
Digital Extension Test, in this chapter.
