1. PRELIMINARY DIGITAL EXTENSION TEST
This test verifies that dial tone is present on each of the extensions used for the APIC ports.

The 25-pair cables should be disconnected from the back of the Octel 200/300.
a.
Connect the modular adapter to the 25-pair cable associated with the configured slot.
b. Connect a digital telephone (phone C) to the first jack position of the adapter.

Go off-hook. Is a dial tone present?

d. Press the NORMAL button on the 7407D display phone; verify that the green lamp next to the
NORMAL button is ON.
e.
Press the first line appearance button and verify that the red and green lamp next to the appearance is
on steady.

f.
From phone A, call the extension for the first APIC port. Does phone C ring?

g. Look at the display of the digital phone. The second line of the display should contain this
information:
a = Test A EXTA
h. Repeat steps a. through g. for each of the APIC ports.
2. PBX BUSY FORWARD TEST
This test verifies that a call to a busy extension forwards to the access number.
a.
Connect the modular adapter to the 25-pair cable associated with the configured slot.
b. Connect one digital phone to the jack position of the adapter that corresponds to port 1.
c.
From phone A, call the extension number of phone B. Does phone C ring immediately?
