Direct Internal Calls
A person can call the message server directly either to enter a mailbox, send a Quick Message, or make a
network call. For these direct internal calls, the MD110 sends the message server a call record that looks
like this:
<STX>82 D V<CR> <LF>
82 is the command type that the message server uses to identify this as a direct internal call.
D is the calling party's extension.
V is the voice mail port number of the port receiving the call.
The message server answers direct internal calls with a prompt determined by the COS attributes assigned
to the mailbox. The caller then has access to the message server's call processing features. Several
convenience features are available for extensions associated with matching mailboxes. When a caller calls
the message server directly from their own extension, the message server already knows the mailbox
associated with each extension, so the caller can

Forwarded Internal Calls
