APIC Port Digital Phone Extensions Configuration Changes
A digital telephone station must be allocated for each APIC port. These stations must be properly
configured as 7405D sets in the System 75 to interface with the Octel 200/300.
.
For proper functionality, each port must be set up to do either call processing or message waiting.
Sizing the message server for call processing applications would reference just the call processing
ports.
The following can be used to size the number of message waiting links required. This is only a
guideline; the actual number of links needed depends on the number of users, message traffic and
desired message waiting lamp performance.

When links are configured in the SLOT Table, assign them in the following manner: start with
link 12 on the last APIC card and work towards the first APIC card. If additional links are desired,
start with link 8 on the last APIC card and work again toward the first card. This will allocate
message waiting activity evenly across processors in the APIC card.
Configure the stations as follows, and check each step when complete. To configure screen examples,
follow these steps.
1. Allocate a System 75 extension number for each port. (This can, but does not
need to be a DID number.)
2. Add the station for the port's extension as a 7405 D set.
Configure BUTTON ASSIGNMENTS 1 and 2 with the call appearance,
call-appr. Refer to Figure 12.2-3
3. Set up page 1 of the port's Station Data as shown in Figure 12.1-10.
a.
Assign the COR defined for the port; refer to the COR section in this
chapter for more information. The Type must be 7405D. Do not configure
the ports as 7407D telephones.
b. Follow the Naming Convention for port extensions. In defining the name,
use D- before the port extension number; for example, D-3888.
4. Set up the digital extensions configured for call processing in a hunt group.
Designate the pilot number of the hunt group as the destination for call
coverage. Refer to the Hunt Group section in this chapter for more information.
