7. EXTERNAL CALL TO A RING-NO-ANSWER EXTENSION
This test verifies that the Octel 200/300 correctly processes an external call that reaches a
ring-no-answer (RNA) extension.
a.
Make sure phone B is on-hook.
b. From phone A, call outside of the PBX and back in on a trunk that auto-terminates to the Octel
200/300. Does the Octel 200/300 answer with the greeting configured for the trunk?
NO
c.
Call the extension of phone B. Does the Octel 200/300 respond with, "Thank you, just a moment.
. ." after which phone B starts ringing?
NO
d. Do not answer phone B. After the duration specified by the PBX System Option for Call
Forwarding Don't Answer Time-out, does the Octel 200/300 respond with, "Extension EXT-B is
unavailable. Please leave a message at the tone. . . ?"

extension.

Take phone B off-hook so that it appears busy.

200/300. Does the Octel 200/300 answer properly?
NO
c.
Call the extension of phone B. Does the Octel 200/300 respond with the prompt, "Thank you.
Just a moment. . . ?"
NO
d. After a short interval, does the Octel 200/300 respond with, "Extension EXT-B is unavailable.
Please leave a message at the tone. . . ?"

9. INTERNAL CALL TO AN EXTENSION ALWAYS REROUTED TO THE Octel 200/300
This test verifies that the Octel 200/300 correctly processes an internal call forwarded from an
extension that sends calls to the Octel 200/300 using Call Rerouting Always.
a.
Access the SX-2000 Call Rerouting Assignment form and assign phone B the Call Rerouting
Always Alternative that reroutes all calls to the first MIC port. Refer to step 3 in Configuration
of Test Extensions at the beginning of this section. Assign this alternative for whichever mode
the PBX is in during this testing — Day, Night 1, or Night 2.
