14. TESTING FAIL-SAFE OPERATION

a.
While all ports are busied out, use phone A to call the extension number or access code of the
hunt group.
b. Does the call overflow to the correct answering extension as determined for fail-safe operation?
NO
c.
Remove the busy condition from all Octel 200/300 port PBX extensions by entering at the @
prompt

d. Disconnect all 25-pair cables associated with Octel 200/300 ports.
e.
From phone A, enter the hunt group extension number or access code associated with the
extensions connected to the Octel 200/300.
f.
Does the call divert to the correct alternate answer point when the Octel 200/300 does not
answer?
g. Reconnect the 25-pair cablesmodular line cordsOctel 200/300.
h. From phone A, enter the hunt group extension number or access code.
i.
Does the Octel 200/300 answer correctly?
NO
j.
From the terminal, at the @ prompt, enter

k. Verify that all ports are in the IDL state. If any ports still show FWD, use TE C 2 x, where x is
the port number to cancel forwarding. If cancel forwarding does not work, determine the cause
and correct before continuing.
