2. SUPERSET LINE EXTENSION NUMBER CHECK
This test verifies that the PBX extension numbers assigned to the MIC ports match the
corresponding extension numbers in the Octel 200/300's SLOTS Table, and also tests that each
MIC Superset extension can perform a screened transfer to another extension.
a.
Label the single line telephone with a message waiting indicator as phone B. Label the other
single line telephone as phone A.
b. Connect a Superset 4 to the 25-pair cable assigned to the first MIC port of the Octel 200/300
hunt group.
c.
Connect phone B to the for the analog extension that is configured with Call Rerouting.
d. Connect phone A to the 25-pair cable for the other analog extension.
The tests that follow will refer to the extension numbers of these phones as EXT-B and EXT-A,
respectively. The message waiting indicator on phone B must be OFF before proceeding with
testing. If the indicator is ON, cancel the message waiting condition before continuing.
a.
From phone A, enter the extension number of the first MIC port. Does the Superset ring?
NO
b. Answer the call on the Superset, and verify the circuit quality. If the quality is bad, determine the
cause and correct the problem.
c.
Press the TRANS/CONF softkey (this should appear as softkey 3) to initiate a transfer. If the
softkey does not appear, the Superset extension may be configured incorrectly in the PBX
configuration. Correct the problem before continuing.
d. Check for stutter or solid dial tone after pressing the softkey and check that the label CANCEL
appears over softkey 5. If neither is present, correct the problem before continuing.
e.
Enter the extension number of phone B. Before the Call Forward No Answer Timer expires,
press the CANCEL softkey to reconnect to phone A. Does phone B stop ringing? Do you get
reconnected to phone A, which was on hold?
NO
f.
Hang up phone A and the Superset 4. Connect the Superset 4 to the RJ11 jack of the next the
Octel 200/300 MIC port extension and repeat steps d. through h. until every MIC port extension
has been tested.
3. PBX BUSY FORWARD TEST
This test verifies that an extension can forward to the Octel 200/300 on a busy condition.
a.
Connect the Superset 4 to the extension of the first MIC port and wait for the PBX to initialize
the Superset 4.
b. Make sure phone B is of-hook so that it appears busy.
c.
From phone A, call the extension number of phone B. Does the Superset 4 ring immediately?
NO
d. Answer the Superset 4. Hang up the Superset 4, phone A, and phone B.
