4. PBX RING-NO-ANSWER FORWARD TEST
This test verifies that an extension can forward to the Octel 200/300 on a ring-no-answer
condition.
a.
Make sure phone B is on-hook.
b. From phone A, call the extension number of phone B. Does phone B ring?
NO
c.
After the duration specified by the Call Forward No Answer timer for phone B, does phone B
stop ringing and the Superset start ringing?
NO
d. Answer the Superset. Hang up the Superset and phone A.
5. PBX FORWARD ALL CALLS TEST
This test verifies that an extension can forward all calls to the Octel 200/300 access number.
a.
Set phone B to forward all calls to the Superset 4 by assigning to phone B's extension the Call
Rerouting Always Alternative that reroutes to the first MIC port in Day, Night 1, and Night 2
operation. Make sure phone B is on-hook.
b. Using phone A, call the phone B extension. Does the Superset 4 start to ring?
NO
c.
Answer the Superset. Hang up the Superset and phone A. Change the Call Rerouting Always
Alternative assignments for phone B's extension back to their previous settings.
6. MESSAGE WAITING INDICATOR TEST (For installations using the Octel 200/300 to control
message waiting indicators)
This test verifies that a message waiting indicator can be set and cleared using the Message
Waiting - Activate and Message Waiting - Deactivate feature access codes.
a.
Connect the Superset 4 to the MIC port used for message waiting indicator control and wait for
the PBX to initialize the Superset 4.
b. Go off-hook on the Superset 4 and enter the Message Waiting - Activate feature access code
followed by the extension number of phone B. Does the PBX return dial tone within three
seconds?

c.
Is the phone B message waiting indicator on?
NO
d. From the Superset 4, enter the Message Waiting - Deactivate feature access code followed by the
extension number of phone B. Does the PBX return dial tone within three seconds?
