The following M1 specific configuration commands might vary between systems. The keys 00, 01, 02,
and 03 must be configured as outlined in Table 11-1. The other keys are intended as a guide, not
necessarily the only way to do the configuration.
The M1 commands required in the configuration for both modular telephone set extensions are shown in
the following table. These commands configure the keys into the correct locations.

Table 11-1 M1 Extension Configuration Commands

Description
scn XXXX
Single-call non-ring. The link extension number
(PDN) XXXX = extension number. Must be a
unique extension number not used anywhere else.
All links must be different.
mik
Message indicate key. Used to turn ON message
waiting indicators.
mck
Message cancel key. Used to turn OFF message
waiting indicators.
dsp
Digit display. Allows the phone to look at call infor-
mation without answering the call.
scn XXXX
Single call non-ring. This is theOctel 200/300 line
10, 9, 8 appearances. Line 10 must be configured at
key 4; Line 9 must be configured at key 5, and Line
8 must be configured at key 6.

Not configured
scn XXXX
Single call non-ring. This is Octel 200/300 line 1−10
appearance. Line 1 must be configured at key 8 with
successive ports configured on successive keys. For
example, key 9 = line 2. XXXX = extension of port
appearance.
