The terminal command P S displays the current status of each Octel 200/300 port. A three
character abbreviation denotes the state of each port. Refer to the Installation and
Maintenance volume, Maintenance Commands chapter, for more information on using the P
S command and the meaning of the states.

Some ports may be in the TST (test) state momentarily due to on-line diagnostics. If a
port is in the TST state, enter P S several times before deciding if the port has a problem
or if selftest is running. Selftest runs once an hour and if a problem is encountered, it is
entered in the Hardware Error Table. Refer to the Installation and Maintenance volume,
System Errors and Traffic Pegs chapter, for more information.
