12.2.4 OCTEL 200/300 CONFIGURATION
This section describes the changes that must be made to the Octel 200/300 configuration for both
message waiting indication and called party identification.
Refer to Product Description volume, General Description chapter, for system capacity information, and
to the Configuration volume, for additional information.
External Call Configuration
The System 75 provides the Octel 200/300 with the Trunk Group number of an external call. The
TRUNK GROUP Table enables the Octel 200/300 to process the call according to the trunk group on
which the call was received, instead of according to which port the Octel 200/300 answered the call on.
This means integrated ports do not have to be split to answer calls from different trunk sources
differently. The following are some examples of how this can be applied:
A different company greeting may be used for each trunk group.
-
External and internal callers can have different intercept positions.
-
Different intercept positions can be defined for each trunk group.
-
If Works is used, calls on a specific trunk group can be immediately directed to a Works application.
-
Refer to the Configuration volume, Trunk Group Table chapter, for more information.
Internal Call Configuration
MWI provides message waiting indication from the Octel 200/300 for phones equipped with a message
waiting lamp. COS Attribute 9 — LAMP OR DISPLAY PHONE MESSAGE WAITING, is assigned to
extensions that have MWI.
Called party identification provides several enhanced mailbox features for direct internal callers, as
described in AT&T System 75 Requirements, Operation of System 75 Adaptive Integration, called party
identification Call Processing. Every Octel 200/300 mailbox may use all of these features without
additional configuration. Index 25 must be defined as YES to permit selected people to access their
personal greetings without entering their mailboxes. This access is possible only when a person is calling
the Octel 200/300 directly from the extension associated with their mailbox.
