Forwarded Internal Calls
When one extension calls another and the call is forwarded to the Octel 200/300, the CBX sends the calling
and called extension numbers. The Octel 200/300 answers the call and informs the caller that the extension
is unavailable or busy and offers options. If the calling extension is a valid mailbox number and the caller
leaves a message, the calling mailbox number is attached to the message. Therefore, when the message is
listened to, the caller's name is spoken before the message plays, even though the message was not sent
from within a mailbox. The message may be automatically replied to as well.

An important exception occurs in collocated Octel 200/300 systems: only the extension number,
not the name, is spoken.

On the ROLM CBX, forwarding of external and internal calls to the Octel 200/300 can be enabled
independently. This allows applications in which the Octel 200/300 provides only internal call
coverage.

If 8 or fewer ports are configured for outcall, the Octel 200/300 makes outcalls when at least 2
ports are idle. If 9 to 32 ports are configured, the Octel 200/300 makes outcalls when at least 3
ports are idle. If more than 32 ports are configured, the Octel 200/300 makes outcalls when at least
four ports are idle.
