Integration Volume
The Octel 200/300 answers the call, prompts the caller with the status of the extension, and offers
messaging and call processing options. If the caller is using an extension with a valid mailbox number
and leaves a message, the mailbox number associated with that extension is attached to the caller's
message. When the message is listened to, the message server can play the name associated with the
extension from which the message was left before playing the message itself. The person receiving the
message can automatically reply to the message.
.
In collocated systems, if the extension numbers and names are not recorded in the same cabinet of
the message server for both the caller and the called party the Automatic Reply feature cannot be
used.
If the collocated message servers are linked by a high-speed digital LAN connection and
configured in a DOMAIN, this restriction does not apply.
Selection of Ports for Outgoing Calls
The Octel 200/300 controls selection of ports for outgoing calls. With the M1 integration, System
Parameter 169 — OUTCALL PORT SELECTION METHOD, should be set for default (LINEAR). Refer
to the Configuration volume, System Parameter Table chapter, for more information about System
Parameter 169.
