6. Use the Courtesy Up command to initialize the integration card. At the @ prompt enter
CU x y
x = slot number; y = unit number
If there are two units, both units would have to be initialized.
Repeat this step for unit 2.
7. Test the system for proper operation.
Once the down LED is OFF, the good LED is ON (green), and the yellow LEDs are ON, the card and
links are working properly.
Testing Adaptive Integration Features
This section describes the procedures for testing Adaptive Integration features. Once the MIC board is
installed and operational and the PBX cables are connected to the correct slots, continue with the
procedure listed below.
1. TESTING THE VMX SYSTEM PORTS
This test verifies that all PBX Octel 200/300 port extensions are connected to the correct Octel
200/300 ports.
a.
On the Octel 200/300 terminal, enter
L T
and select
1. ALL ACTIVITIES.
b. From phone A, call the extension of the Octel 200/300 port 1. Does the Octel 200/300 answer
with "To enter your mailbox, press pound"?
NO
If the trace does not show that the correct port answered, change the lines so that the correct port
answers.
c.
Repeat Step b. for each port.

The four port LEDs on the MIC provide simple visual indication of port status. The MIC
port LEDs always remain OFF while a MIC port is disconnected or while the MIC firmware
is initializing the Superset link to the PBX. A port LEDs flash briefly during the link
initialization process. Once link initialization is complete, the port LED reflects port status
as follows:
Port LED is ON solid if a port is off-hook.

Port LED flashes approximately three times per second while a port is reporting ringing

to the VCU.
The port LED flashes approximately ten times per second while a port is reporting a
-
line drop event (abandoned caller) to the VCU.
Correct the problem before continuing.
