9. VERIFYING PORTS
This test verifies that all the PBX port extensions are connected to the correct Octel 200/300
ports.

a.
From phone C, call the pilot number for the phantom hunt group.
b. Does Octel 200/300 answer with "Thank you for calling. . ."?
YES
NO
c.
Busy out the port that answered by entering at the @ prompt
TE C 1 x
where x is the port that just processed the call.
d. Call the hunt group pilot number again. Go to step b. Proceed until all ports are tested.
e.
Cancel the forward state of the ports by entering at the @ prompt
TE C 2
10. CALLING A RING-NO-ANSWER EXTENSION
This test verifies that the Octel 200/300 properly handles RNA calls.
Three different types of calls to an RNA extension may be sent to the Octel 200/300 for secondary
answering.

The extension to be called (phone C) must be RNA and busy forwarded to the Octel 200/300. Two
mailboxes must be configured:
MBX CCCC
MBX YYYY
Octel 200/300

Use the LIST TRACE command to follow the events. At the terminal, enter L T 1. For
start time, enter C.
Continue.

Verify that the PBX port extension is connected to the right physical Octel
'
200/300 port. The Octel 200/300 will not answer if the PBX port extension is
connected to the wrong physical Octel 200/300 port.
A call from an internal extension to an RNA extension. This call should forward into Octel
200/300 through the PBX forwarding mechanism and play the "unavailable" prompt.
The Octel 200/300 screened transfer to an RNA extension. This call should be pulled back by
the Octel 200/300 port attempting to transfer and play the "doesn't answer" prompt.
The Octel 200/300Octel 300 transfer to ringing to an RNA extension. This call should forward
to the Octel 200/300 through the PBX forwarding mechanism and play the "unavailable"
prompt.
CCCC must be the same as the extension for phone C.
Assign these attributes to the mailbox COS:
Attribute 15 —
TRANSFER TO RINGING
Attribute 9 —
MESSAGE WAITING LAMP (MWI)
YYYY must be a different number than CCCC, but the
extension number must be the same as for phone C.
There should be no attributes assigned to its COS.
