Link Operation
The Millennium verifies connection to the Octel 200/300 by sending an inquiry data packet. If the Octel
200/300 responds, calls are processed. If the Octel 200/300 does not respond, no calls are sent, and the
Millennium polls the link periodically until a connection is established.
The Millennium does not provide an alarm for data link down. Callers receive fast busy.
Port Operation
Access to the Octel 200/300 is through programmable access codes. Hunt groups and pilot numbers are not
used on this PBX. Ports cannot be called individually unless PBX configuration is altered.
Ports may be assigned as single-line extensions and included in a station hunt group. These ports cannot
receive integration call records.
Integrated ports configured as VMVOICE in the Millennium PBX database cannot be forwarded. To take
the Octel 200/300 out of service, disconnect the data link.
Abandoned calls cause the PBX to send a hang-up command to the voice mail system via the integration
data link.
The ports must be connected properly because integrated ports do not receive ring voltage from the PBX.
Call records from the PBX instruct the Octel 200/300 as to which port has an incoming call.
Disconnect Supervision
The integration data link provides information to the Octel 200/300 for disconnect supervision regardless
of the type of line card used in the PBX. If universal line cards are used, System Parameter 77— PBX
PROVIDES MOMENTARY DISCONNECT, should be set to NO. The integration data link provides the
disconnect supervision. If modem control cards are used, System Parameter 77 may be set to YES, and
the modem control cards provide the disconnect supervision to the Octel 200/300. However, the Octel
200/300 still receives disconnect supervision via the integration data link, so System Parameter 77 may
be set to NO with no degradation in performance.
