2. EXTENSION NUMBER CHECK
This test verifies that PBX extension numbers match the Octel 200/300 SLOTS Table.

a.
Take the three single line telephones, label them phone A, phone B, and phone C. Connect
phone B to the modular adapter position associated with port 1.
b. Connect one modular adapter to the 25-pair cable associated with slot 1.
c.
Connect one modular adapter to the 25-pair cable associated with slot 1.
d. Connect phones A and C to the two test phone RJ11 jacks. Phone C must be connected to the
test phone line that is configured for message waiting. Phone C must be the message waiting
phone.
e.
Connect one display phone to the jack position of the modular adapter that is associated to Link
1 on the RIC board. Connect second display phone to the PBX extension RJ11 jack that is
associated to Link 2 on the RIC board.
f.
From phone A enter the extension number associated with phone B.
g. Does phone B ring?
YES
YES
Does the LED corresponding to the Octel 200/300 port light steady?
YES
Does the LED turn OFF on both display phones corresponding to Octel 200/300 port being
called?
