17.2 OCTEL 200/300 MESSAGE SERVER CONFIGURATION
To use QSIG integration, you must make several changes to the Octel 200/300 configuration. Changes are
made in UPDATE. This sections explains the type of changes that might be required. Refer to the
Configuration and Installation and Maintenance volumes for more details about configuring the message
server. It is essential to refer to the Configuration Note for the most up-to-date configuration information
when planning and implementing a QSIG integration.
System Parameters
You must set several system parameters to allow the DTIC to work correctly. Refer to the Configuration
volume, SYSTEM PARAMETER Table, for details about system parameters.
System Parameter 3 — PBX TYPE and PBX MODEL
-
Select the PBX type to be integrated.
System Parameter 198 —PCM ENCODING FOR THE SYSTEM

outgoing call.
System Parameter 313 — VOICE MAIL DESTINATION ADDRESS FOR DPNSS/QSIG

.
Class of Service
Configure a port COS and assign it in the Slots Table to each of the DTIC ports. No specific attributes are
required for QSIG integration. You can have multiple hunt groups associated with DTIC channels. In that
scenario members of each hunt group would be assigned to a COS designated for that group. Refer to the
Configuration volume, COS chapter, for more information about configuring the COS.
