Backoff Threshold
Specifies the threshold for the number of failed login
attempts before the user experiences a delay when
attempting to reenter a password.
Backoff factor
Specifies the length of delay after each failed login attempt.
Minimum Time
Specifies the minimum length of time that the connection
remains open while the user is attempting to enter a
password to log in.
Maximum Time
Specifies the maximum length of time that the connection
remains open for the user to enter a username and password
to log in.

The user configuration feature allows you to configure access permission for individual
users.
To configure a user:
In the NSM navigation tree, select Device Manager > Devices.

Click the Device Tree tab, and then double-click the device for which you want to

configure the user.
Click the Configuration tab. In the configuration tree, select System > Login > User.

Add or modify settings as specified in Table 345 on page 553

OK—Saves the changes.
Cancel—Cancels the modifications.
Apply—Applies the user settings.
Function
Specifies the user name.
Supplies a descriptive comment for the user.
Specifies the complete name of the user.
Specifies the user identifier for a login account.

Set the backoff threshold value. Range:
1 - 3.
Set the backoff factor value. Range: 5 -
10.
Set the minimum time. Range: 20 - 60.
Set the maximum time. Range: 20 - 300.
Your Action
Enter the user name.
(Optional) Enter a comment.
Enter the complete name.
Set the user identifier. Range: 100 - 64000.
