Configuring Transmit Leaky Bucket Properties (NSM Procedure)

In the NSM navigation tree, select Device Manager > Devices.
1.
Click the Device Tree tab, and then double-click the device to select it.
2.
Click the Configuration tab. In the configuration tree, expand Interfaces.
3.
Select Interface.
4.
Add or modify settings as specified in Table 109 on page 213.
5.
Click one:

OK—Saves the changes.
Cancel—Cancels the modifications.

Task
Define tracing operations for
individual interfaces.
For all interface types except ATM, channelized E1, E1, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet,
and channelized IQ, you can configure leaky bucket properties, which allow you to limit
the amount of traffic transmitted by a particular interface. You effectively specify what
percentage of the interface's total capacity can be used to transmit packets. You might
want to set leaky bucket properties to limit the traffic flow from a link that is known to
transmit a high volume of traffic.
To configure transmit leaky bucket properties in NSM:
In the NSM navigation tree, select Device Manager > Devices.

Click the Device Tree tab, and then double-click the device to select it.
2.
Click the Configuration tab. In the configuration tree, expand Interfaces.
3.
Select Interface.
4.
Add or modify settings as specified in Table 110 on page 214.

Click one:

OK—Saves the changes.
Cancel—Cancels the modifications.
Your Action
1.
Click Add Interface next to Interface.
2. In the Add Interface Dialog box, enter the interface name.
3. Click Traceoptions next to interface.
4. In the Comment box, enter the comment.
5. Expand Traceoptions.
6. Click Flag next to Traceoptions.
7. Click Add new entry next to Flag.
8. From the Name list, select the tracing operation to perform.
9. In the Comment box, enter the comment.
