shutdown (interface)

Use the shutdown command to set the administrative status of the current interface to down.
Use the no form of this command to restore the administrative status for the interface to up.

Example
To shutdown the VLAN 2 interface:
G450-001(if:Vlan 2)# shutdown
Interface Vlan 2, changed state to administratively down
Line protocol on Interface Vlan 2, changed state to down
