6-3 Check Gantry Readout Cable Position
If the Gantry Readout ribbon cable is long, then:
• Ensure that the Gantry Readout ribbon cable passes from the Lift Board to the Gantry Readout by
the shortest route, and is not allowed to pass near the lift motor.
• With a cabletie, gently loop the ribbon cable so that the loop is 10 cm wide, and so that 13 cm is free
after the loop so that the ribbon cable can be connected to the Lift Board.
• Ensure that the loop that you created sits firmly on the base of the Gantry at 13 cm away from the Lift
Board as shown below:
If you do not check the positioning of the Gantry Readout ribbon cable, there is a risk of EMC interfer-
ence between the Lift Board and ribbon cable. This EMC interference can cause the Gantry Readout to
appear corrupted as shown below.
7 COMPLETION
Check that the Gantry Readout is functioning correctly.
The LCD in the Gantry Readout contains Mercury, therefore properly dispose of the Gantry
Readout in accordance to your local laws.
