where YYMMDD represents the current date (e.g. 081117 for 17th November 2008).
4. Create an ADS directory within D:\Documents and Settings\<your SSO>\YYDDMM, by entering:
mkdir ADS
5. Change to the ADS directory, by entering:
cd ADS
6. Create an oldfiles directory within D:\Documents and Settings\<your SSO>\YYDDMM\ADS, by enter-
ing:
mkdir oldfiles
7. Create a messages directory within D:\Documents and Settings\<your SSO>\YYDDMM\ADS, by
entering:
mkdir messages
8. Establish an FTP connection with ADS, by entering:
ftp 192.168.1.10
9. Login to ADS as follows:
a. When prompted for the user, enter insite.
b. When prompted for the password, enter 2getin.
10. Specify binary transfer mode for the FTP connection, by entering:
bin
11. Change to the ADS /export/home/sdc/senovision/logfiles directory, by entering:
cd /export/home/sdc/senovision/logfiles
12. List the log files in the /export/home/sdc/senovision/logfiles directory, by entering:
ls
The filenames of the different log files located in the /export/home/sdc/senovision/logfiles directory
appear. Check to see if the error.log.back file exists.
13. Change to prompt mode (so you do not need to confirm every file that you get), by entering:
prompt
14. Transfer all of the log files to your laptop, by entering:
mget *
15. Change to the D:\Documents and Settings\<your SSO>\YYDDMM\ADS\oldfiles directory locally on
your laptop, by entering:
lcd oldfiles
16. Change to the ADS /export/home/sdc/senovision/logfiles/oldFiles directory, by entering:
cd oldFiles
17. Transfer all of the compressed *.Z files to your laptop, by entering:
mget *.Z
18. Change back up one level to the D:\Documents and Settings\<your SSO>\YYDDMM\ADS\ directory
locally on your laptop, by entering:
lcd ..
19. Change to the D:\Documents and Settings\<your SSO>\YYDDMM\ADS\messages directory locally
on your laptop, by entering:
lcd messages
20. Change to the ADS /var/adm directory, by entering:
cd /var/adm
21. Transfer the messages file to your laptop, by entering:
