Revision 1
Note:
You can normally identify whether the top brake is installed without removing the Gantry covers
due to its distinctive clamping noise. When stopping the Gantry lift movement, a distinctive clamp-
ing noise can be heard almost immediately after letting go of the lift control buttons.
Type 3: Brake motor - (stationary and mobile systems) - the latest systems in the install base dat-
ing from June 2011 onwards. At this stage of the product life cycle, brake functionality was consid-
ered a product improvement. All Gantries manufactured from June 2011 were installed with a Type
3 Lift Screw Assembly containing the "brake motor".
A system containing a "brake motor" can be identified by:
-
the sliver block with no threaded holes at the top of the Lift Screw Assembly
-
in addition to the power cables, the motor at the bottom of the Lift Screw Assembly contains an
earth cable and a brake cable
