5. Vehicle Speed Sensor
A: REMOVAL
1) Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
2) Remove the intercooler. <Ref. to IN(H4DOTC)-
13, REMOVAL, Intercooler.>
3) Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor connector.
4) Remove the vehicle speed sensor.
B: INSTALLATION
1) Match the end of the vehicle speed sensor key
into the key groove at the end of the speed meter
driven shaft to install.
Tightening torque:
5.9 N·m (0.6 kgf-m, 4.4 ft-lb)
NOTE:
• Make sure to keep the sensor attachment hole
clean and free of foreign objects.
• Discard the vehicle speed sensor after removal,
and replace with a new sensor.
2) Connect the connector to the vehicle speed sen-
sor.
3) Install the intercooler. <Ref. to IN(H4DOTC)-14,
INSTALLATION, Intercooler.>
C: INSPECTION
Because the vehicle speed sensor cannot be in-
spected by itself, check whether the speedometer
is operating properly. If it is not operating properly,
check the combination meter system. <Ref. to IDI-
3, INSPECTION, Combination Meter System.>
