The commands in this subsystem select the instrument mode of the analyzer. Instrument mode specifies

the type of measurement being made and whether signals applied to the front panel input connections are

being measured.

Instrument mode is a major selection that changes the "personality" of the analyzer. This means that

other parameters change when you change instrument mode.

The analyzer "remembers" a separate set of parameters for each instrument mode.
