3 Click Tools menu
4 Select the host wall.
5 Select the wall to embed into the host wall.
6 If necessary, resize the embedded wall by selecting it and using the drag controls.

Separating Embedded Walls

1 Click Tools menu
2 Highlight the host wall, and click to select it.
3 Highlight the embedded wall, and click to select it.

Vertically Compound Walls

The structure of vertically compound walls is defined using either layers or regions. The following image
shows the Edit Assembly dialog.
NOTE To access the Edit Assembly dialog, select the wall and click
Edit/New, and then click Edit for the Structure parameter.
Layer rows: correspond to wall layers or regions
A layer is assigned to one row. It has a constant thickness and extends the height of the wall. You can change
its thickness in the row assigned to it.
If the embedded wall is within the boundary of the host wall, Revit Architecture issues a
warning and advises you to use the Cut Geometry tool.
Cut Geometry.
IMPORTANT When using the Cut Geometry command, do not select the shorter wall first and then
the larger host.
The wall is now embedded.
