Starting a Furniture Family
When you start creating a furniture family, you can open a number of views, including a front elevation
view with a reference plane (origin) and reference level tag, a plan view with perpendicular reference planes
(origins), a right elevation with a reference plane (origin) and a reference level tag, and a 3D view. The
starting view does not matter. You can define geometry in any of the views. Revit Architecture places the
furniture using the intersection of the 2 reference planes in the plan view. These 2 reference planes define
the origin of the family. Sketch the geometry accordingly.
