Control
Mullions
When you can add mullions to a grid, the mullions resize to fit the grid. If you add a mullion to an inside
grid, the mullion is centered on the grid. If you add a mullion to a perimeter grid, the mullion aligns so its
border is flush with the outside of the wall.

Profiles for Mullions
You can vary the shape of mullions by loading new mullion profiles into a project. Also, you can create a
custom profile.
Revit Architecture provides some templates for mullion profile families. By default, these templates reside
in the following location:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\<product and release>\<Metric or
Imperial> Library\Profiles\Curtain Wall
For more information, see
on page 373.
Applying the Mullion Profile
1 In the drawing area, select a mullion on the model, or on the Modelling tab of the Design Bar, click
Mullion.
2 Click
.
3 In the Element Properties dialog, click Edit/New.
4 In the Type Properties dialog, under Construction, select a profile, and click OK.
Creating a Custom Profile
You can create a custom profile for a mullion. For more information about creating a profile, see
Families
on page 371.
Mullion profile families can include detail components that are displayed when the mullion intersects the
cut plane of the view. You can specify the visibility of the detail components to display at various detail
levels.
