2 Click Modelling menu
3 In the Type Selector, select a ceiling type.
4 Click inside a room to place the ceiling.
Sketching a Ceiling
1 Open a Ceiling Plan view.
2 Click Modelling menu
3 On the Options Bar, click Sketch.
To sketch a ceiling by picking walls
1 On the Design Bar, click Pick Walls.
2 On the Options Bar, specify an offset, and select Extend into wall (to core) to measure the offset
3 Select the faces of the walls that form the boundary of the ceiling.
4 On the Design Bar, click Ceiling Properties.
5 In the Element Properties dialog, designate the type of ceiling and its properties, and click OK.
6 On the Design Bar, click Finish Sketch.
To sketch a ceiling by drawing
1 On the Design Bar, click Lines, and on the Options Bar, click Draw.
2 Use the sketching tools to complete the ceiling sketch, which must be a closed loop.
3 On the Design Bar, click Ceiling Properties.
4 In the Element Properties dialog, designate the type of ceiling and its properties, and click OK.
5 On the Design Bar, click Finish Sketch.
To sketch a ceiling using Auto Ceilings
1 On the Design Bar, click Auto Ceiling.
2 Place the cursor in a room.

There are 3 ways to sketch a ceiling:
pick walls
draw using sketch tools
use Auto Ceiling
from the core layer of the wall.
NOTE To select a chain of walls, highlight a wall, press TAB until chain of walls or lines displays in
the status bar, and click.
To create an opening in the ceiling, sketch another closed loop within the main loop.
NOTE You can also use Pick Lines on the Options Bar to sketch the ceiling. Picking lines is not the
same as picking walls.
The boundary of the room is highlighted.
Ceiling, or on the Modelling tab of the Design Bar, click Ceiling.
