Structural Walls
The Structural Wall family type in Revit Architecture has the following possible structural usage options:
non-bearing, bearing, shear, and structural combined.
Typical structural wall
You create a wall by sketching the centerline of the wall in either a plan view or a 3D view. Revit Architecture
creates thickness, height, and other wall parameters based on the properties that are specified in the Wall
Family Type. When created, the elevation of the top of the wall is the current level, and the elevation of the
bottom of wall derives from the Base Offset value.
A structural wall differs from non-structural walls by its Structural Usage Instance Parameter. When adding
a structural wall, by default Revit Architecture sets the wall instance parameter, Structural Usage, to Bearing.
Description
The rotational release at the end of the brace along the local x-axis.
The rotational release at the end of the brace along the local y-axis.
The rotational release at the end of the brace along the local z-axis.
Used by external analysis applications to determine whether brace conditions
contribute to lateral analysis. See
