Only the routes within an area are summarized, and that summary is advertised to other areas

Syntax
area area-id stub [no-summary]
To delete a stub area, use the no area area-id stub command.
Parameters
area-id
no-summary
Specify the OSPF area in dotted decimal format (A.B.C.D.) or enter a
number from zero (0) to 65535.
Specify an IP address in dotted decimal format.
Specify a mask for the destination prefix. Enter the full mask (for
example, 255.255.255.0).
(OPTIONAL) Enter the keywords not-advertise to set the status
to DoNotAdvertise (that is, the Type 3 summary-LSA is suppressed
and the component networks remain hidden from other areas.)
