32.5.6 Sample Status Registers

The read-only Sample Status Registers contain the value of the GPIO pins for the port. The register is
updated on every clock. The contents are used as a status value when the pins are configured as inputs.
There are four distinct Sample Status Registers; each holds the data for one of the four GPIO ports (Port A,
Port B, Port C, and Port D).
